Margaret Nassozi Amanyire - Executive Director
Margaret is a development worker with more than twenty years of experience working with communities to cause social development. She began her career as a Civil Servant with the Ministry of Gender and Community Development in Uganda, where she worked on issues of culture, women, and gender, as well as youth and development. She later worked as District Community Development Officer in Western Uganda before joining the Civil Society fraternity in 1998 and has been a Coordinator for a civil society network as well as a consultant for the European Union and CARE International. She has facilitated the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of both strategic and action plans for several organizations. She has worked for the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD); the USA based non-for-profit charitable organization as its Program Director in Uganda for eleven years. Under this docket, she has facilitated community-based organizations and global volunteers/Interns to mutually advance global educational service exchange in the context of promoting Sustainable
community-based development in Uganda. She now manages and oversees the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the FOSCOD including fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. She is a guest speaker to a few USA Universities and Colleges on topics of Public and Global Health in the Ugandan Context. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Development Studies, the Commonwealth Diploma in Youth and Development and a Diploma in Performing Arts. She has a passion for children and young adults.
Mugisa Dan Byenkya - Program coordinator
Mugisa Dan Byenkya is a seasoned development worker with a passion for community empowerment and innovation. With more than nine years of experience in community-based development, Dan has a proven track record of driving positive change.
Beyond his work in development, Dan is a digital business entrepreneur with a keen interest in technology. His passion for travel led him to establish Shakes Travel, a sustainable tourism marketplace dedicated to promoting travel across Africa. With this initiative, Dan envisions travel as a powerful force for good in Africa.
Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and is a graduate of the Young African Leaders Initiative –YALI RLC EA. He has conducted community-based research and co-founded FOCUSED, a community-based organization focused on sustainable development in Kasese District.
Throughout his career, Dan has demonstrated a commitment to empowering young people and fostering innovation. His work at FOSCOD, including his role in restructuring the volunteer and internship program and leading the virtual internship initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlights his ability to adapt to changing circumstances and deliver results.
Dan’s career goal is to be a global development leader who contributes to poverty reduction and empowers young people to create innovative solutions. His combination of development expertise, entrepreneurship, and passion for travel makes him a valuable asset to the field of sustainable grassroots development and community empowerment.
Omoding Yusuf - Assistant Program coordinator
Yusuf is a dedicated professional with a strong passion for community development and youth empowerment. Currently serving as the Assistant Program Coordinator at FOSCOD Jinja Uganda, he leverages his expertise in information technology to support and drive the organization’s mission of fostering sustainable development. His role involves managing data systems, overseeing communication technology, and assisting with various program activities to ensure smooth operations and impact-driven results.
Yusuf has a diverse background that includes experience as a Data Mapper at Rwazi, where he honed his skills in data collection, research, and interview techniques. He also spent over two years as a Machine Operator at Nile Breweries Ltd, where he developed a keen eye for detail and operational efficiency. Additionally, Yusuf has worked as an I.T Assistant in Njeru, where he supported most schools’ technological needs and ensured seamless IT integration.
Yusuf is a certified UPG (United People Global) Sustainability Leader; he actively promotes sustainability and environmental stewardship in all his endeavors. He is also a certified Virtual Assistant, a testament to his adaptability and commitment to continuous learning. Yusuf holds a Diploma in Information Technology and has earned additional certifications in data analysis, digital marketing, and inclusive communication
Beyond his professional achievements, Yusuf’s dedication to social impact is evident in his founding of the Abalondemu Youth Group, an initiative aimed at empowering Ugandan youth with employable skills for financial independence and socioeconomic growth.
In his free time, Yusuf enjoys spending quality moments with friends and family, playing soccer, traveling, and making new connections.
Mwesige Rodgers - Finance and Compliance officer
Mwesige Rogders, a native of Bunyangabu district, Uganda, is a dedicated professional with a passion for community empowerment. With a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Makerere University Business School, Rogders brings a solid foundation to his role as a Finance, Administration, and Compliance Officer at FOSCOD.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Rogders is a vibrant individual with a love for exploring different cultures and engaging in sports. His enthusiasm for meeting new people and learning languages is infectious.
As a valued member of the FOSCOD team, Rogders plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s financial integrity and compliance with regulations. His commitment to sustainable development aligns perfectly with FOSCOD’s mission to empower underserved communities.
Baluka Enid - Volunteer
Enid is a passionate volunteer at FOSCOD, where she supports the organization in the day-to-day operations and social media management. As a graduate of Bachelors of Business Computing from Makerere University Business School, she brings her skills and enthusiasm to support the team in achieving their goals.
She is committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives and believe in the power of community. Working with FOSCOD has given her the opportunity to gain valuable skills and be part of a cause that is making a real difference in grassroots communities.
In her free time, Enid enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music and trying out new things. She cherishes being part of a community, making friends, and doing life with them
