Who We Are
FOSCOD is a Ugandan nonprofit organization that supports underserved communities to lead sustainable development. Through place-based community development and global learning, we implement community-led programs that combine local knowledge, partnerships and shared learning to address social, economic and environmental challenges.
Our Programs
FOSCOD delivers its mission through two complementary programs: the Community Empowerment and Development Program (CEDP) and Global Learning Education (GLE). Together, they combine local action, shared learning and responsible partnerships to support lasting community impact.
Global Learning and Exchange (GLE) Program (Internship and Volunteering)
GLE is FOSCOD’s community-engaged learning program for students, interns, volunteers and researchers. Through locally defined projects and research, it combines professional learning, cultural immersion, local supervision and reflection, while building practical and intercultural competencies, and contributing responsibly to community priorities and sustainable development.
Community Empowerment and Development Program (CEDP)
CEDP is FOSCOD’s place-based community development program that supports underserved communities to lead practical, sustainable solutions to local challenges. It integrates clean energy & climate resilience, Community Health & WASH, Skills Development, Sustainable Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment to strengthen community resilience, self-reliance and ownership.
