Kayemba Patrick - Chairman Board of Directors.

Kayemba Patrick is a Development Practitioner, Researcher, Trainer, NGO Manager, and Social Development Change Agent. He is also a political leader –  the  former District Chairperson  Iganga District Local Government. He holds a masters’ degree in Community Based Development and a Bachelor Degree in Development Studies. He is specialized in Policy advocacy on Sustainable Transport and Governance. Mr. Kayemba was a member of the National Bus Rapid Transit project (BRT) for Kampala Technical committee, Finance, Infrastructure and Transport Services (FITS) and a member of the Sector Working Group of the Ministry of Works and Transport. He has published on Sustainable Transport and Governance. He has over 20 years’ experience in Coordinating and Managing Development Projects. He formally worked as the Executive director of First African Bicycle Information Organization (FABIO) and later as the chairman of the same organization. He served as the Country Director- European Institute for Sustainable Transport EURIST AFRICA. Mr. Kayemba was the Chairperson of Transparency International Uganda (2012 -2016) and a member of the Standing Committee of Economic, Social and Cultural Council – ECOSOCC of the African Union (2006- 2015). He initiated and was Chairman of the Civil Society Coalition in Transport CISCOT.

Esther W. Kirumira – Vice Chairperson

Esther W. Kirumira is an accomplished social development professional with over 18 years of experience serving across non-profit, public health, and education sectors. As the Board Chairperson of Education and Development Initiative Uganda (EDI-U) in Njeru Municipality, she leads strategic initiatives focused on skills development and empowerment programs for women, youth, and school dropouts. She currently serves as Chair of the Health Management Committee at Namwezi Health Centre III, where she oversees healthcare governance for Njeru Central Division Local Government.

Ms. Kirumira’s diverse expertise in banking and administrative management, coupled with her specialized training in baking and secretarial studies, has enabled her to work effectively with various financial institutions, organizations, and government ministries throughout Uganda. Throughout her career, she has successfully coordinated and implemented both national and international development programs, demonstrating strong leadership in community development and public health sectors. Her commitment to social development and expertise in program management continues to drive positive change in Ugandan communities.

Nakandi Grace Kiyingi - Treasurer

Grace Nakandi Kiyingi is a seasoned financial professional with over a decade of diverse experience in financial services and management. She has served as Branch Accountant at Five Talents Uganda Limited and Unit Leader at ICEA Life Assurance Company Limited, she brings expertise in credit services, insurance management, and educational administration. In her role at Five Talents, she was overseeing comprehensive branch accounting operations, while simultaneously leading sales teams and developing marketing strategies at ICEA Life Assurance.

A graduate of Ndejje University with a degree in Business Administration specializing in Accounting, Ms. Kiyingi has demonstrated exceptional skills in financial advising, operational strategy, and investment relationship management. Her multifaceted career includes significant contributions as a Bursar at Kanyanya Church of Uganda Primary School and previous roles in microfinance institutions. Her proven track record in budget management, process improvement, and team leadership makes her a valuable asset in financial operations and organizational development.

Kakiga Raymond - Board Member

Raymond is a research consultant, and a seasoned business person with over 14 years’ experience working on different projects in Uganda, South Sudan, Kenya, and Rwanda. A graduate of Makerere University with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, he has established himself as a versatile expert in data analysis, research methodology, and IT systems development. Raymond has worked as a consultant for World Bank, IFAD, UNOPS, ENABEL, and other local organizations as monitoring and evaluation consultant in conducting endline or baseline surveys covering different subjects in Agriculture, Education, Health, and Policy research. Raymond has worked with lead government research organization (Uganda Bureau of Statistics) for two years, and currently heads a private company as a managing Director (Statworld Consult Uganda Ltd), and plays a role of vice president at Uganda Federation of American Football. Raymond has great experience in strategic management and planning.

Tapati Dutta, PhD, MCHES, MPS, MA, PGDHRM, BSW - Board Member

 A prac-academic educated in public health, social work, and participatory research, She has 25 years’ experience in program management, socio-behavioral research, health education, and policy advocacy.

She is Assistant Professor of Public Health at Fort Lewis College (FLC), a Native-American-Serving institution (NASNTI), She practices decolonized pedagogies such as storytelling, innovated and promote Virtual Global Health Internships, and her scholarship advances translational research by applying ecological frameworks and community-based participatory methods for equitable health outcomes.

A significant body of her research reports empowerment education and agentic transformation among Public Health to ‘Native-American-Serving institution’ NASNTI students.

Margaret Nassozi Amanyire - Executive Director

Margaret Nassozi Amanyire is an experienced development practitioner with over 20 years of expertise in community-based development, civil society coordination, and human rights advocacy. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation for Sustainable Community-Based Development (FOSCOD) in Uganda, where she has led initiatives in strategic planning, capacity building, and resource mobilization to support grassroots empowerment. Under her leadership, FOSCOD has pioneered global e-community-based development, linking international students with local communities through virtual and in-person engagements.

Margaret has a strong background in program management and intercultural exchange, having served as Program Director for the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD-USA), where she facilitated partnerships with over 30 NGOs/CBOs and hosted 100+ international interns in Uganda. She has also worked extensively as a consultant for international organizations, including the European Union’s Human Rights and Good Governance Program, CARE- International – Uganda, and Save the Children Fund (UK), focusing on civic education, conservation, and psychosocial support for vulnerable populations. Her government service includes roles in Kasese District Local Government, where she led community development programs in gender, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation.

A passionate educator and researcher, Margaret has presented papers at international conferences, including Northwestern University’s Global Engagement Summit and Kansas State University’s International Service-Learning Summit. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies from Nkumba University, a Commonwealth Diploma in Youth and Development from the University of Zambia, and a Diploma in Performing Art from Makerere University. Fluent in multiple languages and skilled in policy advocacy, participatory research, and stakeholder engagement, she remains committed to driving sustainable, ethical community development in Uganda and beyond.

Mugisa Dan Byenkya – Program Coordinator

Dan Mugisa Byenkya is a dedicated development professional with extensive experience in community-based project management, capacity building, and grassroots development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and has built a career focused on empowering communities through sustainable development initiatives.

Prior to joining FOSCOD, Dan has served as the Programs Coordinator at FOCUSED in Kasese District, where he was instrumental in developing organizational structures, coordinating capacity-building programs, and fostering partnerships with both local and international institutions. His work included collaborating with Kasese Municipal Council and University School of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA) on community-driven water projects, as well as conducting participatory research on water challenges in Kasese District. His expertise extends to volunteer and internship management, having worked with Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD) to support international interns, facilitate cultural adaptation, and coordinate research and documentary projects on community issues.

Dan’s commitment to leadership and social impact is further demonstrated by his participation in the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI RLC EA), where he gained advanced leadership skills to drive community transformation. He is also an active member of the Rotaract Club of Kasese, contributing to service projects that improve community livelihoods. In addition to his development work, Dan has strong skills in graphic and website design, video production, photography, and music, which he leverages to enhance community engagement and advocacy efforts.

Omoding Yusuf – Assistant Program Coordinator

Omoding Yusuf is a dynamic Assistant Program Coordinator with over four years of experience in program management, community development, IT support, and data analysis. Currently serving at FOSCOD, he plays a key role in program planning, stakeholder engagement, database management, and digital content creation to enhance organizational impact. His expertise extends to resource mobilization, proposal writing, and fundraising, ensuring the successful implementation of development initiatives.

In addition to his program coordination work, Yusuf is a Data Mapper worked at Rwazi, Inc., where he designed data collection tools, conducted field interviews, and ensured data integrity for research and community development projects. He also provided IT support at Njeru Central Division, managing education systems and facilitating digital literacy training for staff and students. Holding a Diploma in Information Technology from African Ark College of Management Sciences, Yusuf combines technical proficiency with leadership and problem-solving skills to drive sustainable development and operational efficiency. His dedication has earned him multiple awards, including the Super Mapper Award from Rwazi, Inc., and certifications in data analysis, digital marketing, and sustainability leadership.

Mwesige Rodgers - Finance and Compliance officer

Rodgers Mwesige is a finance and compliance professional with expertise in financial management, accounting, and regulatory compliance. He currently serves as the Accounts and Compliance Officer at the Foundation for Sustainable Community-Based Development (FOSCOD), where he oversees financial transactions, budgeting, grant management, payroll processing, procurement, and internal controls. His role also includes ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, donor accountability, risk management, and financial reporting, contributing to FOSCOD’s transparency and operational efficiency.

Rodgers has also gained hands-on experience in banking and microfinance as a Finance Intern at Rwakyakibunya SACCO, where he was responsible for account management, loan supervision, amortization, and reconciliations. His proficiency in QuickBooks, Oracle, and financial analysis tools has enabled him to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy. Additionally, he worked as a Sales Intern at Access to Solar Technologies, where he handled financial transactions related to solar product sales and installations, further strengthening his understanding of business finance.

Rodgers holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Finance) from Makerere University Business School and possesses strong skills in financial analysis, compliance, risk assessment, and project management. His entrepreneurial mindset is reflected in his involvement in business strategy and agribusiness finance, where he successfully managed and scaled family-based ventures. Fluent in English, Rutooro, Luganda, and Runyankole, he is committed to leveraging financial expertise to drive organizational growth and sustainability.

Baluka Enid – Marketing and Communication Officer

Baluka Enid is a dynamic and results-oriented professional with a background in Business Computing from Makerere University Business School. With experience in creative leadership, community mobilization, and digital content development, she has demonstrated a strong ability to engage communities, lead teams, and drive impactful initiatives.

As the Creative Team Leader at The Collective UG (2023–2024), Enid spearheaded content creation and engagement strategies, overseeing social media growth and cross-functional collaboration. She previously served as a Community Mobilizer at StrongMinds Uganda, where she successfully connected over 50 clients to mental health services while promoting awareness and outreach. Enid is a team player, highly adaptable, and passionate about working with young people, with skills in videography, video editing, and graphic design. She is committed to continuous learning and leveraging her expertise to create meaningful impact.
