Community Mobilization and Empowerment - Empowering Change
Under this program, FSD Jinja, Uganda works directly with grassroots communities to improve their standards of living. The program brings together as many stakeholders as possible to raise people’s awareness of and demands from supported communities; assists in the delivery of resources and services; and strengthens community participation for sustainability and self-reliance. The organization reaches out to different sectors of a community and creates partnerships to focus on, and ultimately address pressing issues. It supports grassroots efforts by empowering community members and groups to take action to facilitate change.
The CME program enhances grassroots communities’ capacities to make choices and transforms their choices into desired actions and outcomes. Communities are supported to take control of their lives: set their agendas, gain skills (or have their skills and knowledge recognized), increase self-confidence to solve problems, and develop self-reliance.
