The UCWEM project aimed to empower women and adolescent girls in Kyambogo Village, who faced challenges such as early and unwanted pregnancy, abuse, neglect, and mental health issues.
With the support from FOSCOD, the project addressed these critical issues by providing training workshops on family planning, birth control, communication skills, and mindfulness-based meditation.
By equipping women with knowledge and skills, the project empowered them to make informed decisions about their reproductive health and well-being. It also helped them to cope with stress, anxiety, and trauma.
The UCWEM project has made a lasting impact on the community. The women and girls who participated in the workshops are sharing the knowledge they gained with others, ensuring the project’s sustainability.
